ADAIR PLACE

CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE

Featured on HGTV's special Top Ten Amazing Kitchens,  this Tuscan-style property on the Tennessee River boasts over 20,000 sq. ft. of floor space with spectacular vaulted ceiling details, beautiful arched windows and unbelievable views of the river.

Regency Cabinetry, stained in French Oak, perfectly married the European styling of the property.

Seeking the perfect cabinetry that would bring complementary sophistication to their home, the owners fell in love with the Clive Christian Furniture portfolio and enlisted the help of our design consultant Heather Hungeling.

The open plan Kitchen & Butler's pantry - which leads to an adjoining family room - had to be carefully scaled to work comfortably in such an expansive space - this is an area in which we are proud to excel.

Keen to marry the European styling of the property design, Heather opted for our Regency Cabinetry in a stained French Oak. Unlike American Oak, which tends to be browner and has a wilder grain to it, French Oak is from managed growth trees. It is lighter in colour (similar to White Oak) and has a very straight grain.

Made for entertaining.

Not only does this incredible kitchen have two islands, but it also boasts a small peninsula area for guest beverages. Each island is designed with an end overhang to accommodate seating - perfect for prep of entertaining buffet-style. There are several steps down to the adjoining family room, including cabinetry here that enabled a convenient refrigerator, drawers for drinks, a bar sink and an ice maker.

The sink under the window serves as the principle clean-up area although it hardly looks utilitarian. The Shaws fluted fireclay sink is elegant enough to complement the Regency Style Cabinetry which conceals two dishwashers, with our pull out pilasters providing extra storage. Like ourselves, Shaws of Darwen proudly handcrafted their timeless, iconic, fireclay sinks in North West England.

The Mayfair Mantle over the range cooker steals the show in the kitchen, providing a focal point and elevating the sheer scale of the room while maintaining elegance. This grandeur is further echoed by the inclusion of a Regency Cabinet topped with a classic pediment, cleverly housing two 36" Sub Zero fully integrated refrigerator/freezers. The full height cabinetry further maximises the storage space and complements the flow of the room.
