This striking Georgian townhouse in the heart of Edinburgh pays tribute to the building’s heritage and grand characteristics while speaking to the client’s sophisticated city lifestyle and balancing his desires for both functionality and innovation.
Rich mahogany and walnut-stained woods play a key role in the design, with personal touches via the addition of family heirloom furniture pieces further accenting the space and its exquisite historical features.
The client’s second home in Spain plays another influence in the design process, which translated to adding steelwork to the long and narrow vault to make a wine cellar, complete with lighting across the lengths of the floor to lift the entirety of space and provide a modern twist.
Meanwhile, a grand butler’s pantry brings life to the basement, while a mini kitchen in the master bedroom transforms the room into a self-contained space that’s perfect for entertaining.
