WENTWORTH PLACE

DALLAS, TEXAS

This stunning Dallas property demonstrates how the Architectural Collection  flows beautifully throughout a home, uniting individual rooms to present a classical elegance which delivers equally on form and function.

"Maintaining the sentiment and character of the original Georgian building was essential."

With a degree of sentimentality, this expansive re-build of the client's childhood home included a Kitchen, Dressing Room and Master Bath Suite. While the ambition was an "improved" version of the old house, it was important to maintain the sentiment and character of the original Georgian building.

"When I heard that the home would be Georgian in style, I immediately thought of Clive Christian Furniture Co.'s Architectural Collection, with its tailored pilasters and bevelled glass doors with mullions. I imaged a very classical style that would play well with my client's elegant taste, but would be laid out in an effective manner." - US Interior Designer, Heather Hungeling.

Statement Kitchen

This client loves to cook, so making sure that the kitchen was designed to enable pure enjoyment for their passion was very important. The elegant painted Architectural Cabinetry was designed to incorporate a much loved La Cornue Château 180 range - at almost 6 feet in length, it commands respect and admiration in any kitchen.

Custom features include the arched glass door on the top boxes to the left and right of the range and the circle moulding on the over-mantle to mirror the Architectural signature island end panels.

To retain some of the character and charm of the home, one of the pendants above the island, original to the house, was replicated twice to create a sentimental feature.

"Sometimes I think that I love designing closets even more than kitchens! I get to organise the space down to the tiniest detail."

The client's enthusiasm for fashion may have exceeded that of cooking!

The sconces in the dressing room were also original to the house and the chandelier over the island was a fixture that had belonged to the client's mother - personal and sentimental details that needed to be considered in the scheme. Again, Clive Christian Furniture's Architectural Cabinetry perfectly accommodated the Georgian aesthetic.

The room features two "islands". The first at a low level providing light to the space and the second made up of wardrobes that extended to the ceiling but positioned in the middle of the room. This acted as a privacy screen for the back portion of the closet.

The client provided detailed information about how many pairs of shoes to accommodate, as well as how many linear feet of different types of hanging clothing. We created multiple pull out shelves with dividers for belts and a myriad of drawer inserts to accommodate sunglasses, costume jewels, scarves and watches.

The Master Bathroom

Flowing perfectly from the Dressing Room and also featuring original sconces, the Master Bathroom boats an assortment of storage and display solutions housed in the elegance of Architectural Cabinetry. There really is a place for everything here.
